This is the account of a free black man living in Upstate NY in the late 1800s who is taken on what he believes is a work trip. Instead, he is kidnapped and sold into slavery. This is his eyewitness, first-hand account of slavery. It is an informative, eye-opening read.

And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
