Seventy-five students provided an afternoon of lifting the work and achievements of multiple individuals worldwide in education, law, science, ministry, and literature. The theme was LIFT. Recognizing that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. focused his life on lifting the lives of others, we took the day to lift and promote others while learning about their work. Classes were suspended, but learning occurred aggressively in the halls of the Boren Student Center. The Office of Intercultural Programs was abuzz as students and faculty read poetry. Taylor’s Admissions Team hosts guests daily, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day was no different. People considering where to continue their education toured our campus and observed a beautiful moment. Seeing firsthand how we celebrate, how we listen, how we lift, and how we learn.
