Celebrating the work of Director of Church Relations, Ron Korfmacher
Ron has cumulatively completed forty years at Taylor University. He served most of his career in athletics (13 years as a head football coach) but also spent some time in the Admissions Department. During the last two years at Taylor, he served as the Intercultural Leadership & Church Relations department’s inaugural Director of Church Relations. After years of coaching young men on the football field, he used those same skills to coach and encourage pastors! Ron always provides integrity as a strength in his toolbox. I’ve enjoyed seeing Ron provide care for local pastors, work to coordinate Christian leader retreats, connect Taylor students with local churches, introduce pastors to Taylor University through special events, and serve in the background at a local pastor’s ordination. Ron has low blood pressure in complicated settings and loves looking into God’s Word for meaning in life. Ron has an awesome family and enjoys time with his children and grandchildren. He loves traveling with his wife, Julie, and he seems at his very best when they can do anything together.
Although Ron is departing his role at Taylor on May 31, his next step includes more than 18 holes! Looking forward to seeing what Ron will accomplish next for Christ! If you’d like to send a note of thanks or encouragement to Ron, you can reach him at RNKORFMAC@taylor.edu.
