Outreach centers make great sense to me. Although I did not frequent one growing up, as an adult, I helped create a center that we saw for over 20 years impact the lives of youth. Over 50,000 visits occurred in a place that reached out to youth, many of whom would not normally or regularly attend church. If the church is like a hospital where you go for spiritual healing, outreach centers often function like ambulances or MASH units, caring for the sick and wounded on the field. There is probably a similar youth center nearby for you to visit, volunteer at, or donate to. When we ran our center, those gifts were such a lifeline. More than the time or money, they were reminders that other people saw the need, and they were praying for the work we were engaged in. I hope there are times in your life when God steps outside the box and moves you to help in a center like City Life in Fort Wayne, IN. Here is a flashback to when God moved me to participate in such an effort. Rarely do you take big steps alone. I love this video because I see the many faces (including my Mother) who stepped up and served with us. Go and do likewise.
